Description

It's not for nothing that Finale Ligure is one of the most popular freeride areas in Europe. Thanks to renowned competitions such as the "24 Hours of Finale" or the Enduro World Series, the coastal town on the Italian Riviera is known worldwide as a freeride mecca. Finale Ligure owes its excellent reputation to the quality of its trails. Routes such as the "Rollercoaster" or sectors such as the "Base NATO" are real freeride classics. The know-how of the trail builders is exemplary. Every trail in Finale Ligure has its own original character. Thanks to the excellent shuttle infrastructure on site, this exceptional area can be enjoyed without any worries.

The only thing Finale Ligure has lacked so far is an excellent mountain bike guide. Now German tour author Ralf Glaser has filled this gap. In his bike guide "Liguria Trails!", he describes the 40 best mountain bike routes around Finale Ligure, but also in the neighboring regions of Pietra Ligure, Calizzano and Colle di Nava.

In fact, Liguria offers much more than "just freeride". A network of ancient trails runs through the hinterland and forms a great all-mountain area for adventurous mountain bikers. You can "experience" the eventful history of Liguria up close - from the traces of prehistoric cultures to the military trails made from the Napoleonic wars at the end of the eighteenth century.

The bike guide "Liguria Trails! #1 Finale Ligure" describes many of these adventure tours and at the same time clears up the jungle of built freeride trails in all tour sectors. The cycling guide is up to date. All new trails built up to the beginning of 2016 are included in the guide. Each of the 40 routes is described in detail and provided with a detailed topographical map at a scale of 1:50,000. The GPS tracks of all routes are available to download in a high level of detail. As a bonus, the book includes a zoomable, offline-capable digital map for navigation on a smartphone. A 3D-capable map is also included, which can be used to "fly" the routes on Google Earth. Of course, the digital maps can also be used on normal GPS receivers.

Ralf Glaser | Glaser Verlag | 2016 | 160 pages | 24.5 x 17.2 x 1.8 cm
