Description

<p>The mountains of Central Switzerland have always been one of the preferred ski touring regions - not only for the people of Lucerne, but far beyond the borders of Switzerland. Snow-sure winter destinations around Andermatt, exotic descents high above Lake Lucerne, leisurely ski hikes in Obwalden, far-reaching landscapes in the Schwyz Alps; The Schwyz Prealps, steep powder snow descents in the Maderanertal and Meiental, popular classics in the W&auml;gital, high alpine scenery on the Galenstock, Sustenhorn and Titlis and, at the end of the season, sultry spring descents on the Gotthard, Furka and Susten passes: The heart of Switzerland offers a huge selection of quickly accessible, varied and rewarding ski tours for every taste, fitness level, skiing ability and avalanche danger level. When selecting the routes and variants, attention was also paid to the longest and most interesting descents possible. Many of the routes described are also suitable for snowboarders and snowshoers. And last but not least, a tour combination between the two best freeride spots in Central Switzerland is presented: the Haute Route from Andermatt to Engelberg.
