<p>The official UK50 series (1:50000 area map) offers specific leisure information for contiguous Bavarian regions.<br></p><p>The map is based on the TK50 (1:50000 topographic map) with UTM grid for GPS users and terrain display.</p><p>The UK50-49 shows us the Pfaffenwinkel region to the south of the Ammersee and the region around the Staffelsee. Also included is the northern part of the Ammergau Alps, as well as large parts of the Lechrain.<br></p><p>The Pfaffenwinkel is an Upper Bavarian postcard idyll with monasteries and lakes, onion domes and rolling meadows. Exploring it is a pleasure, whether on foot, by trekking bike or mountain bike.</p><p>Various routes such as the "Ammer-Amper-Radweg" or the "Dampflok-Runde" invite cyclists to discover the area again and again. Cycling through the countryside on relaxed routes and enjoying nature is a real pleasure thanks to the numerous signposted cycle paths.</p><p>The traditional hiking trails "König-Ludwig-Weg" and "Maximiliansweg" are complemented by pilgrimage routes such as "Via Romea". There are also signposted trails of the "Holy Landscape Pfaffenwinkel" and the "Lech Adventure Trail".</p><p>The monasteries of Wessobrunn, Polling, Steingaden and Rottenbuch and churches such as Hohenpeißenberg are further attractions in the region. A particular highlight is the "Wies" church, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The medieval old towns of Weilheim i.OB, Schongau and Murnau are just as worth a visit as the Buchheim Museum or the open-air museum on the Glentleiten. Technology fans will also find what they are looking for in Pfaffenwinkel.
